After Creating the previous two model I moved onto the third and final character model the old player, this model was meant to be inspired by Desy Jennings while he was playing football. The organizer asked that unlike the other two characters they asked for the model to look like it came out of an old black and white photograph, alongside this I decided that I should design the jersey the same way as the other two with modern lightweight design but instead use the old design which looked more like a woolen jumper than a jersey. Also because it was going to be inspired by an adult I was going to make the model more muscular.

To begin I again use the boy model as it was a good basis to work from. I took the sleeves from the shirt and extruded then downwards to the wrist to look like my reference I then added some laces to the collar of the shirt to again look more like the reference. I then also changed the style of the hair to match with the photos and the advice from the Organizer however after some back and forth I changed the direction of the strands to better reflect Desy. I also added knee high socks to add some more detail to the model as I could use different materials to make it aesthetically pleasing. Finally I was advised to make the eyes smaller to reflect how Desy's eyes looked, I added more muscle especially to the legs as Desy was an adult football player so he would have had much different physique than the other two models and I also slimmed the face for a more accurate portrayal.
After some new UVs were created I brought the model to substance painter, at first I was going to make the player just black and white to make it look like an old photo however I noticed that the model came out very bland so instead I asked the Organizer what colour the jersey he wore would have been, after being told it was green I instead swapped out the black and white for more muted and darker shades of green which still kept to the style of the older photograph while also adding some much needed colour to the model, This model was also supposed to be the main model as it was inspired by the person in the name of the charity so I didn't want it to look bland or boring. I also added the colour as in the renders and animations this model was going to be paired up with the 1960's styled football so I wanted to make the ball stand out more from the character
For the shirt, shorts and sock I experimented around with different fabric materials to best reflect the clothes football players wore at the time there were a few that added some nice detail however I decided to go with the wool styled material as it both had a similar texture to the reference shirts but also made the shirt look heavy which is the impression i got from looking at the photographs.

While working on this model I had another meeting with the Organizer, this meeting both served as a way to get direct feedback for the work I had currently done and a way plan for the animations. The Organizer brought with her a number of story boards and notes planning out what happens in each of the animations, each animation was going to be used for the launch of the festival in late January/early February and further promotional material so each of the animation was to last no more than 10 seconds. After much discussion about what animations should be made, which should be altered and which were perfect as is we came up with these animations.
-A Turntable of the Old Player on his own
-A turntable of both the Old player with one of the other characters
- A ball going into the corner of a net
-A ball hitting of the post of the goal
-Equipment falling from the sky before the camera travel down to show a pile of equipment
-A ball bouncing through the 18 Arches before blocking out the camera.
There were also storyboards for the still images of the location that I gathered just to plan out where each prop would go in the scene and what poses I should put the characters in.
