The next animation I was going to work on this week was the two animations about a football either going into the net or bouncing off the post.

The first thing I needed was a pitch prop for the ground so I made an elongated and flattened cube in Maya then brought it into 3d substance painter where I applied a grass alpha with a simple a green material to create the grass. I then used a white paint material to create the different lines found on real football pitches although mine were simplified.

I then Brought The footballs, Goal post, Corner flags and the pitch model into UE5, I set up the scene and began animating the over all animation were quite easy do make however again just like the 18 arches animation it was a bit of a challenge to make the ball bouncing look convincing however eventually after some tweaking I was happy with how the ball going into the net and bouncing of the post came out. It was also a bit frustrating to get the spinning of the ball correct depending on which direction it was going. When I export the regular animation I also made versions with a green screen for if the Charity wanted a different background.

Thanks to making these animation faster than I thought I managed to also make the equipment falling from the sky animation so that I could move on to the character turntables. I already had most of the props in UE5 already so all I needed to bring in was the jersey. After doing this I set up the scene using the same pitch as the previous animations, I placed and resize the props to create a pile of props that didn't look too cluttered and showed off each prop for their own merits. When I set the props to fall from the sky, the main problem was that the camera was also in the sky with the falling props and when it start to move downwards to show the pile the falling props would be too slow to get off camera. So instead of having the props fall directly downwards I had then fall down until they were out of shot then had them dart to the left or right so the camera wouldn't see them as it moved downwards.
