To begin this week I started modeling the second football the Organizer wanted which was meant to be styled like an a 1960's football.
I was going to use the same process for this football as I used for the last one however, I had to use a regular sphere object then use multi-cut tool to create the pattern found on that style of football. Other than that I used the exact same process as the last football and apart from a few problems while UVing the creation was very successful. Additionally I added laces to the front of the ball to keep the design accurate to the real object.
When texturing I used a two leather material's in order to create a rougher texture to the model again for accuracy, I experimented around with different shades of brown and different sizes for the textures and I think the final product is quite accurate to the reference football. I also used a black paint material with a text alpha to place the initials DJ for Desy Jennings onto the front of the ball then altered the height so it looked like an imprint.
Next I moved onto the corner flag that would be used in the background of the renders and animations, I asked the Organizer how detailed they wanted the flags and they said it didn't need to be detailed at all so I decided to not use tools like N cloth for the flag instead I made it incredibly simple so that there would be as much to render out.
